This Is The Week

Really feels like this is going to be a big week. Microsoft is holding an event Wednesday where they'll announce the price, options, and available date for the Surface Ultra laptop. That's the one with an ARM processor and an Nvidia GPU that share system memory, like a Macbook. Will I be able to justify buying one? I don't know. I'm hoping they also announce a native ARM build of Unreal Engine at the same time.

Also on Wednesday, my Adobe subscription expires. I've not missed it at all, uninstalled it a few weeks ago. I've been waiting five years for Affinity by Canva to have a shape blend tool. In the meanwhiles I've grabbed some licenses for CorelDraw from Humble Bundle. Now that Affinity has a blend tool I should be set. I'm very impressed by the app, and the free version is very usable.

Also I had a tooth removed a week-and-a-half ago and am stopping in Wednesday for my follow up. They pulled the tooth, packed the hole with bone grafts, and sewed up my gums. Didn't really hurt except when they pulled the tooth a little bit. This is probably going to be replaced with an artificial tooth. We'll see how well the bone and gums healed up and go from there. I'm a beginner, everything is a possibility.

I've also made a lot of progress on Flood Returns this past week. If I put my mind to it I can roll the really big update this week, it's feeling really solid. I'm hoping this is received well and makes me a lot of money so I can buy a Surface Laptop ultra and some other stuff I don't actually need.
