Loose Flesh

Aug. 31, 2026, noon
I'm down ten pounds. A lot of exercise, better diet, no snack chips. A pastry in the morning, a Huel for lunch, and a moderate dinner. I'm going to lose as much weight as I can before my next family doctor appointment, get my blood drawn, and hopefully have good metrics for my cardiologist.
My cardiologist gives me the impression that I am in a precarious position. I was nearly dead when I first saw him so I guess that's understandable. I've had a pretty miraculous return of heart function but he still at the end of the session puts a hand on my knee and tells me to lose weight.
I would like another fifteen years of life, and to be pretty productive and relatively healthy during that period. That takes mindfulness more than work. Just need to be mindful about what I'm putting in my body, mindful of not giving up and not doing anything.
